Pinnacle's management team and operators are experienced individuals who apply skill and knowledge drawn from operational taskings whilst serving within Special Forces, Specialist Police Units and HM Royal Marines. All personnel have been trained to the highest level of professionalism within their specialist field of operations.

The Team

Matt Croucher GC | co-director

Matt Croucher is a former Royal Marine Commando with 9 years experience in some of the toughest conflict theatres in the world with three tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. During his civilian career he has been engaged in security roles by the United Nations and the Saudi Royal Family. More recently, Matt has advised government organisations and private companies on risk management and security solutions as well as playing an important role in operational planning and its delivery.

Steve Hands | co-director

As the co-director responsible for the strategic direction of the company, Steve Hands manages the day-to-day operations of the business. Also a former Royal Marine, Steve served in a wide variety of operational appointments, including Northern Ireland and Bosnia, supporting Special Forces. Steve has been operating in the private sector since 2001. He is a highly trained specialist in close protection with wide ranging experience across the private, commercial and post conflict arenas.

Derek Whitehouse

Following service in HM Royal Marines, Derek Whitehouse went on to a distinguished career in the police service. He is an experienced crime investigator having led teams in the West Midlands Police, National Crime Squad and latterly the Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit. Derek’s knowledge and experience makes him ideal for his co-ordinating role in respect of investigation and technical support services, on-site project management and resourcing for all our consultancy and business enterprises.

Fred Newton QPM

Former Assistant Chief Constable Fred Newton is one of the most experienced organisers of port and border security in Europe. As the UK’s National Co-ordinator of Ports Policing he acted as an advisor to government and all 55 Chief Officers of Police on counter terrorism measures at air and seaports and the Channel Tunnel. His experience of wider security and policing matters includes disaster response and logistics management for major incidents such as Lockerbie Air Disaster, security planning for nuclear power stations and involvement in hostage negotiation work.
